Recession Proof History

Recession Proof Extreme, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that imP.R.E.S.S.es financial literacy to disadvantaged adults and at-risk youth. It provides a financial literacy mentorship program with essential tools and strategies that helps its constituents to create businesses and obtain funds to expand their operations and seize new opportunities.

Recession Proof Extreme, Inc. has positively impacted the lives of thousands of members nationwide. It has developed a one-of-a-kind entrepreneurship community that includes business leaders in industries from tech, stock investments, trucking, real estate and cryptocurrency just to name a few. With such a huge reach, the Recession Proof Extreme, Inc. non profit organization was birthed in 2021. It currently boasts 26 chapters nationwide, representing more than 20,000 members.

It is our aim to provide individuals with the knowledge, skills, and resources needed to make informed financial decisions and take control of their financial futures.

Mental/ Health focus now It is our commitment to providing ongoing support and guidance to individuals as they work towards achieving their financial goals.

It is our goal of creating sustainable financial practices and habits that will benefit individuals, their families, and their communities in the long term.

Founders

Marcus Barney

Serial entrepreneur Marcus Barney also known as HIM500 has mastered the personal finance space, catered to entrepreneurs. Statistics show close to 60% of small businesses fail within the first five years. Of that, 82% fail because of finances. Marcus learned early on that entrepreneurs are not equipped with the proper tools or financial resources that are needed to succeed. He has creatively created dozens of strategies to obtain funding, in ways that we “The Consumer” have control over. With this information he has created a multi 8 figure empire. Him500 has a very prominent multi million dollar real estate portfolio that he’s built over the years. Also owns Barney aviation which is a private jet brokerage that brokers his private jet. These are just a few of his more successful business endeavors. He also is part owner of connectally; a software company. His biggest and most prized company is his Recession Proof financial literacy Community.

Turquoise Barney

Turquoise Barney is a 37 year old wife, mother, mentor, entrepreneur and modern day mom-preneur. She currently owns a tax firm, Recession Proof Tax & Co., as well as co-owns an online education mentorship called Recession Proof Extreme ; which provides mentees with financial literacy education that is crafted to promote and create generational wealth. She has successfully helped build a loving family, several thriving businesses and an entrepreneurial empire that has built and launched the careers of hundreds of aspiring entrepreneurs throughout the country.

Syndy Buchanan

Syndy Buchanan, widely known as “Syndy B.”, presently serves as the National Program Facilitator for EYL University powered by Recession Proof, where she exercises her professional Relationship Coaching education and expertise within the organization and its 8 thousand plus membership to help build the bridge between Mentor & Mentee by forming, organizing, and building Chapters & Member Experience across the Country to further provide support for Universal personal and professional growth. Syndy is a proud wife of 13 years to Ryan Buchanan, and mother to two wonderful children, Isaiah and Synia. Residing in Atlanta, GA since 1999, Syndy continues to serve her community with her professional skills, community, and advocacy involvement.

Recession Proof has chartered 26 chapters

throughout the United States and has plans to expand beyond its current domestic borders in the very near future. Recession Proof is not only a movement, but a liberating mindset that the organization strives to impart on the future generations to come. At the heart of its existence, Recession Proof exists to provide knowledge and resources to its diverse membership population that ranges from ages 15 to 75 and beyond. 

Our Educational Platform

Through the organization’s mission, “To disrupt and advance the world’s learning system as it pertains to self-development, financial literacy and all-around wealth generation”, Recession Proof has equipped hundreds of members to walk away from their jobs and into their destinies to launch 6-figure businesses. At the end of 2022, Recession Proof merged with EYL (Earn Your Leisure) University, which is also a top financial literacy program in the U.S.. They merged to form one of the largest financial literacy mentorship programs in the U.S. As such, the organization is now known as EYL University Powered By Recession Proof.
